Plantain

As useful as the plantain tree
Methought I'd use it for the day's muse!
From the top to its bottom,
Brimming with utility
One in the backyard would mean no futility!
Its fruit both raw and ripe find their way to the kitchen;
So do its stem-plantainpith and its flower; in ripe red.
Oh and its wide lush green leaves-
Natural shields and plates for meals.
Fibrous strings off its leafy body
Used to wrap,
Not a part of it is considered crap!
If only it were able to speak,
Unlike humans,
It would humbly bow down
And whisper: Thank You for Using Me!
